About me

I’m Dianne Battersby and I’ve been working as a proofreader for several years – now with my business, which is called Editing Eye. My background is in languages (French, with some Italian, Russian and German), European politics, and travel and tourism, and I started out in proofreading by joining Yell over 14 years ago. I then went on to study two comprehensive courses organised by the Publishing Training Centre: ‘Proofreading by Distance Learning’ and ‘Copy-Editing by Distance Learning’. For both these courses I was awarded a Merit. I’ve since studied with the Society for Editors and Proofreaders (SfEP), now the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP), and am a professional member.
